Delivery to Iceland: transit times, customs and VAT
Our workshop is in Turț, Satu Mare County, in north-west Romania – about 3,230 km in a straight line from Reykjavík. Parts and assemblies travel by road freight (groupage or dedicated truck), or by express courier for small urgent parts; typical road transit to Iceland is 7–14 working days. We deliver anywhere in Iceland, including industrial areas such as the Reykjavík capital region, Akureyri and the East Fjords.
Shipments to Iceland travel by road to a continental port and then by sea freight; small urgent parts can be sent by air express in a few days.
Iceland is part of the European Economic Area but not of the EU customs union. We prepare the export declaration and the statement of EU preferential origin, which usually allows industrial goods to be imported duty-free; import VAT is settled in Iceland on arrival.
Delivery terms (for example EXW, FCA or DAP to your plant) are agreed in the quote. Parts are cleaned, protected against corrosion where needed and packed for transport, and each shipment travels with its delivery documents and, on request, inspection reports.
